A rigid triaxial rotator approximation of odd nuclei with quadrupole and octupole deformations

Abstract

An approximation of a rigid asymmetric rotator for odd nuclei with quadrupole and
octupole deformations have been developed and applied to describe energy levels of
alternating-parity ground-state-band odd nuclei 161,163Dy, 223,225Th, 237U and 239Pu.
The general structure of the sequence of low alternating-parity energy levels in odd nuclei in
the lanthanide and actinide regions is reproduced, taking into account the K-mixing effect.
Furthermore, interactions with an even-even nucleus and an unpaired nucleon are taken into account.
In addition, the contribution of the unpaired nucleon to the collective motion of the entire system
is taken into account by the Coriolis interaction.
